The Rheem Big 6 Challenge

What is the Big 6?
The annual Rheem Big Six Challenge 2024 is back and it’s going to be the biggest and best yet! In October 2024, eight lucky winners will be heading to Fiordland for seven days of hunting and fishing. Their goal is to score as many points as possible by catching the biggest fish, tracking down the most species, grabbing the biggest crayfish, and bringing a deer onboard.
For the last decade, Rheem have hosted the Big 6 challenge over 48-hours, with the winners needing to catch two saltwater fish, two freshwater fish, and two game animals in the allotted time. Now with an extra few days up their sleeves, the competitors are going to have even more opportunity to bring home a trophy catch. The twist this year is that the competition will now be run on a points basis, with the participants earning points based on their respective catches. The competitor with the most points at the end of the week will be crowned the 2024 Big Six champion.

BIG 6 CHALLENGE 2024 Terms and Conditions
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY INTO PRIZE COMPETITION AND CAP GIVEAWAY
1. The Promotion: Subject to these terms and conditions, this Promotion gives entrants who purchase an Eligible Product during the Promotional Period the chance to redeem a free Rheem cap (limited to 1,000 caps) and enter a Competition to win a fishing and hunting trip prize ("Competition").
2. Promoter: The promoter is Rheem New Zealand Limited ("Rheem"). The contact details of Rheem are: Rheem New Zealand Limited, 475 Rosebank Road, Avondale, Auckland, NZ; PO Box 19011, Avondale, Auckland, NZ; www.rheem.co.nz. The decision of Rheem on all matters in connection with the Promotion, including the prize for the Competition, is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3. Acceptance of terms and conditions: Participation/entry into the Promotion will be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
4. Eligibility: The Promotion is only open to qualified plumbers and gasfitters who are New Zealand residents. The winner of the Competition and any accompanying person must be over the age of 18 years.
5. Promotional Period: The “Promotional Period” is from 12.01am on 1 February 2024 to 11.59pm on 31 March 2024. An Eligible Product must be purchased within the Promotional Period to entitle an entrant to enter the Promotion. Purchases made after the end of the Promotional Period will be ineligible. All entries in the Promotion must be submitted by 5pm on Monday 8th April 2024 (see 7.a below).
6. Eligible Products: An "Eligible Product" is any Rheem branded Electric Storage Low Pressure Copper/Vitreous Enamel, Mains Pressure Vitreous Enamel/Stainless Steel, Boiling & Chilled water appliance, Gas, Solar or Heat Pump product, or Gas Continuous Flow and Gas Storage purchased during the Promotional Period. Eligible Products do not include Peter Cocks branded products, Commercial projects (including products supplied as part of a contract or building quotation), spare parts and accessories and/or products purchased in conjunction with any other offer.
7. Entry conditions:
a. Subject to the additional terms and conditions in this document, to participate in the Promotion to redeem a Cap and/or enter the Competition, entrants must purchase an Eligible Product during the Promotional Period and must complete and submit the details in the online entry form (including entering the model number) at www.rheem.co.nz/big6 by 5pm on 8th April 2024.
b. Rheem takes no responsibility for late or incomplete entries. Incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
c. Rheem reserves the right to verify the validity of entries.
d. Multiple (i) redemptions of a free cap, and (ii) entries into the Competition are permitted, but only one cap and one entry is permitted per Eligible Product purchased.
8. Prize: The prize for the Competition is for a five-day fishing and hunting trip ("The Rheem Big 6 Challenge") for eight people (being the individual winners, over the age of 18 years), with an approximate total retail value of up to NZD$60,000 (depending on the location of the winners and the cost of transportation). The prize consists of:
a. a trip within New Zealand for eight people, in Fiordland of the South Island;
b. five nights accommodation aboard the Tutuko II vessel;
c. one nights accommodation in or near Fiordland before boarding and one nights accommodation after disembarking the vessel (two nights total)
d. all meals; and
e. transport within New Zealand for the winners to and from the chosen destination, including domestic return flights and airport transfers.
All other incidental or ancillary costs including additional food and beverages, mini-bar purchases, spending money and travel insurance are the winner’s/accompanying person's responsibility.
9. Prize draw: The winners of the Competition will be drawn on 12 April 2024. The winners will be the first 8 valid entries drawn at random from a pool of all valid entries. The winner of the Competition will be deemed to be the owner/director of the company/entity to whom the goods are invoiced and paid by. Any dispute as to the identity of the winner will be determined by Rheem in its sole discretion.
10. Notification and publication of winner: The winners will be notified by phone during the fortnight following the draw, using the phone number provided by the winner in his/her online entry form. If contact cannot be made with the winners during that fortnight, the prize will be deemed forfeited and another draw held within three business days for a replacement winner. By accepting or using the prize, the winner agrees to his/her name being published on the Rheem website, and the winners agree to participate in the photography and filming of The Rheem Big 6 Challenge event, and to be available for reasonable publicity purposes by Rheem for 12 months following notification to the winners of the outcome of the prize draw, without remuneration or compensation.
11. Transfer: The winner may (subject to approval by Rheem) transfer the prize to another adult provided the winner advises Rheem in writing of the nominated transferee within 2 weeks of the winner being notified of the outcome of the prize draw, and the transferee is a Valid Transferee as defined below. The transferee's acceptance of the prize is deemed to be acceptance by the transferee of these terms and conditions. The word “winner” in these terms and conditions includes any Valid Transferee. A “Valid Transferee” is any transferee that meets the eligibility requirements of the Competition set out in 4 above. The prize otherwise cannot be transferred, nor exchanged or taken as cash.
12. Redemption of prize: The prize must be taken on dates specified by Rheem in October 2024. Specific dates are to be determined by Rheem at its absolute discretion. If the winner is unable to use the prize on the specified dates, the prize will be deemed forfeited.
13. Availability and redemption of Caps: Caps are limited to the first 1,000 redemptions, on a first in first served basis. Subject to availability, one Cap can be redeemed per Eligible Product purchased. Caps will be distributed to the plumbing merchants stores from 1 April 2024.
14. Modification, suspension or cancellation of the Promotion or prize: If for any reason this Promotion or the Competition prize (or any part of either) is incapable of being run as planned due to any cause beyond the reasonable control of Rheem, Rheem reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify, suspend or cancel the Promotion or prize (or any part).
15. Waiver, indemnity and statement of eligibility: It is a condition of accepting or using the prize that the winners must sign a waiver and indemnity (confirming they accept the risks involved in using the prize) and a statement of eligibility in the form determined by Rheem in its absolute discretion. The statement of eligibility will include a declaration of any health-related issues which may affect their safety or ability to compete in or accompany The Rheem Big 6 Challenge. If considered necessary by Rheem in its absolute discretion, a prior written medical clearance must be provided. Failure to sign the documentation or provide any necessary medical clearance will result in the forfeiture of the prize.
16. Proof of purchase to claim prize: The winners will be required to provide to Rheem valid proof of purchase of an Eligible Product during the Promotional Period to claim his/her prize.
17. Rules: It is a condition of accepting or using the prize that the winners will abide by the rules of The Rheem Big 6 Challenge, and that the winners will follow all instructions and directions from the Challenge guides.
18. Disclaimer: To the maximum extent permitted by law neither Rheem, nor any person or entity associated in any way with the Promotion or the Competition prize, shall be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury of whatsoever nature in connection with the Promotion or prize (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss) and howsoever sustained, whether due to negligence or otherwise.
19. Property and personal information: All entries become the property of Rheem. All personal details provided by entrants will be held by Rheem. The details will be used for verification of the winner’s identity and, unless otherwise requested, may be used for future Promotional activities conducted by Rheem. Under the Privacy Act 1993, entrants may access and correct their personal details by contacting Rheem.
20. Changes to these terms and conditions: Rheem New Zealand Limited may change information on the Promotion or these terms and conditions at any time and without notice. Any changes will be effective immediately on publication of the revised terms and conditions.
21. New Zealand law: The Promotion and these terms and conditions are governed by New Zealand law.
