Sydney CBD Office Leads the Way with First-Ever Installation of Rheem’s YF Series Heat Pump

In the heart of Sydney’s bustling CBD, one of the city’s premier office towers has taken a bold step toward a greener future. With a strong commitment to sustainability and high-end tenant amenities, the building became the first in Australia to install the Rheem Commercial YF Series Heat Pump system, setting a new benchmark for energy-efficient commercial hot water solutions.
The Challenge: Upgrade End-of-Trip Facilities with Sustainability in Mind
To support the building’s newly upgraded end-of-trip (EOT) facilities, including 22 showers and 12 basins, engineering firm Floth reached out to Rheem Commercial for a solution that would:
- Deliver high-efficiency hot water
- Align with the building’s 5.5 Star NABERS energy rating
- Reduce long-term operational costs
- Integrate seamlessly with the building’s management systems
The Solution: Rheem YF Series Heat Pump
After a collaborative design process, Rheem Commercial delivered a tailored solution featuring the Air to Water (A2W) 30kW YF Series Heat Pump, a cutting-edge system designed for performance and sustainability.
Key features of the YF Series include:
- R1234yf refrigerant with an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP < 1)
- An impressive energy efficiency rating (COP) of 4.28
- Seamless integration with the Building Management System (BMS) for real-time monitoring and performance optimization

- 2 x YF Series Air to Water (A2W) 30kW Commercial Heat Pump – Non Ducted – model 953030
- 2 x Grundfos CM 10-1 Primary Circulators

- 1 x Rheem Redi-set Deluxe UPS20-60N – model 99501272
