Save the Kiwi
Rheem partners with Save the Kiwi to help save New Zealand’s national bird
Rheem New Zealand Ltd is proud to sponsor Save the Kiwi, the national charity that helps save and protect New Zealand's national bird.
Save the Kiwi works to educate communities and protect and increase native kiwi numbers throughout the country. With the help of well-known ambassadors including Olympic gold-medallist Dame Lisa Carrington and NEw Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson, the organisation raises funds for local kiwi conservation projects, incubation facilities, education programmes, and its ongoing work to protect kiwi habitats.
Rheem has been an iconic manufacturing brand in New Zealand for over 60 years and collaborating with Save the Kiwi to help grow the country's iconic kiwi population is a way of giving back to our community.
"We are excited to be able to support such a great organisation and we believe our customers will be delighted to know that when they choose a Rheem water heating product they are helping to protect the future of kiwi" says Steve Bullock, former General Manager of Rheem.
Our partnership also includes providing hot water systems for incubation facilities such as the Crombie Lockwood Kiwi Burrow near Taupo which opened in late 2019 and hatches more than 100 kiwi eggs annually.
