The Pressure Problem

New Zealand is one of the few countries where low pressure hot water systems are still common, and because upgrading to mains pressure can be costly, many homeowners simply replace their existing unit with another low pressure cylinder. As a result, homeowners often miss out on the improved performance of mains pressure, and the country remains reliant on lower-performing systems.

After speaking with both homeowners and plumbers, the local Rheem design team set out to solve this challenge. The result is Rheem All Pressure VE – a smarter, future-ready solution.

The All-Pressure Solution

The new Rheem APVE™ range makes upgrading to Mains Pressure simple. APVE™ cylinders are a drop in replacement that can be easily connected to existing low and mains pressure systems. Even if initially installed as low pressure, APVE™ cylinders can be upgraded to mains pressure in the future.

To make installation straightforward, we designed and manufactured the APVE™ in NZ to have the same height, diameter, and bottom entry as the legacy cylinders it replaces, but built with longer-lasting materials and greater flexibility.

What Sets APVE™ Apart

The All Pressure™ range is made using Rheem Ultranamel®, which offers superior resistance to corrosion from chlorinated, hard, or bore water compared to copper or stainless steel. With a 10-year cylinder warranty and over 20 differently sized units covering around 70% of low-pressure replacements, Rheem’s APVE™ range makes it easy for plumbers and homeowners to upgrade performance without upgrading complexity.
